What is Climate Change?

CLIMATE is the average weather for an area.

Eg. In Canada, the summers are usually hot with very little rain. Canada's summer CLIMATE is HOT and DRY.

CLIMATE CHANGE is a change in the average weather.

Eg. Many, many years ago, just after the dinosaurs lived, the Earth was covered in huge ice sheets. This was called the ICE AGE! The CLIMATE during the ICE AGE was very cold! Now, the CLIMATE is much warmer. The CLIMATE has CHANGED by heating up!

The CLIMATE is CHANGING faster than ever!

The average weather is changing very fast. It is heating up in some places and getting cold in other places. Some countries are getting more rain and some are getting no rain at all! The CLIMATE is CHANGING so fast that the Earth is getting sick. Its like the Earth has a fever, with chills!

What are the things that you do that affect Climate Change?
