The HEAT WAVE from Kyoto

The meeting in Kyoto, Japan in 1997 encouraged countries to take a serious look at their impacts causing Climate Change. Search the map below to discover by how much countries around the world have promised to reduce their Greenhouse Gas emissions.

Reductions are based on 1990 Greenhouse Gas emission levels.

HFC's, PFC's and Sulfur Hexafluoride need only to be reduced below 1995 emission levels.

Japan and Europe have not included HFC's, PFC's or Sulfur Hexafluoride into their reduction promises.

World Average = 5.2% Reduction below 1990 levels
